What Velox does
Everything starts from your Garmin. The analytics are free for good; Pro turns the same data into a plan and a coach.
Free, for good
- Automatic Garmin sync
- Link Garmin Connect once. Your recent runs arrive in about a minute, and the rest of your history backfills over the following days. Every new run syncs on its own.
- Run analytics
- Every run broken down the way you’d want it: splits per kilometre, time in each heart-rate zone, elevation and the route on a map.
- Health and recovery
- The recovery side of training, next to the runs it affects: sleep stages, HRV, resting heart rate, body battery and stress, tracked over time.
- Records and trends
- Your personal bests at every distance, and the trend behind them: weekly volume, training load, fitness and fatigue, and six months of VO₂ max.
- Shoe tracking
- Your shoes and other gear from Garmin Connect: how far each has gone, how close it is to the replacement alert you set, and roughly when it will get there. Change which shoes a run was in and Garmin is updated too.
- Run clubs
- Give your club a page anyone can find, post the week’s runs with a meeting point and session, and see who’s going. Joining needs a free account, not a Garmin. Members who run with one add their run to the results with one tap; the club sees its distance and time, nothing else.
Pro coaching
- Adaptive training plans
- Tell Velox your goal race and date, for a 5K, 10K, half or marathon. It builds a week-by-week plan from the Daniels VDOT model calibrated to your fitness, then adapts and re-paces it as your training goes, with a daily readiness check from your overnight HRV beside it. Building a plan and seeing its shape is free; Pro shows each session in full and keeps it adapting.
- Couch to 5K
- For runners starting from nothing: three timed run/walk sessions a week, at a pace you could talk at, until you can run for thirty minutes without stopping. Your watch tells you when to switch. See the nine weeks.
- Workouts on your watch
- Each session goes to your Garmin calendar as a structured workout, so the watch guides every interval with pace targets. There’s an .ics feed for any other calendar too.
- Race predictions
- Predicted finish times for 5K, 10K, half and marathon, computed from your VDOT. Each carries a confidence rating based on how much of your data backs it.
- Goal and race-day pacing
- Check whether a goal time is realistic for your current fitness, and get a pacing plan for race day split by kilometre.
- Coach analysis
- After each run, a written debrief built on the numbers Velox computed: what the session did for you, what to watch, and what comes next.
- Weekly coach note
- Each week of your plan opens with a note from the coach, written around the figures Velox computed: what the week is for, and how last week’s sessions went against the plan.
- Injury-risk alerts
- Velox compares this week’s load with your recent baseline (the acute-to-chronic workload ratio) and warns you when you’re building faster than is safe.
Who does what
Every number on your sheet comes from Velox’s own maths. The coach never calculates; it explains what the maths found, in plain words, and is told never to invent data.
